Frequently asked questions
Moteef cushions have been designed with outdoor living in mind. Check out our frequently asked questions for more information.
Is your payment system secure?
Our shopping cart is powered by Stripe which has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor, and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available. All payments are processed through Strip or Paypal and we do not have access to your banking details or credit card number.
I can't decide what cushions designs go together, can you help?
Yes, I do this all the time! Email some photos of your space to hello[at]moteef.com.au and I will suggest some options for you.
What features make Moteef cushion covers outdoor worthy?
Moteef cushion covers have been designed with outdoor living in mind - The fabric is mildew, stain and water resistant. Nylon thread and zips are used for strength and durability. The insert filling is antibacterial and high wicking and the printing has been laboratory tested to ensure a very good colour fastness.
Will Moteef cushion fabric fade?
All printed fabrics will fade overtime when exposed to extended periods of UV light. Independent laboratory tests report the Moteef collection is within the 5-6 range (out of 8) for 500 hours of direct sunlight. Results 5 and over are considered acceptable and desirable in the furnishings industry.
What insert filler do you use?
Sourced from Australia's leading manufacture of sustainable fibre based products, the insert filler is derived from 100% post consumer water bottles. This PET fibre looks, feels and performs in the same way as a high-grade poly fibre, but is completely recycled. It is non allergenic and environmentally friendly - every 50cm cushion insert saves around 25 plastic water bottles from landfill.
Can I use Moteef cushions indoors?
Sure! The fabric is wonderfully soft and the inserts are plump and comfy so use them wherever you want with no fear of colour transfer.
What's the best way to care for Moteef cushions?
Moteef cushions are best used and displayed year round within covered outdoor living spaces where they are protected from the elements. Do not neglect in full sun. Rotate, dust and plump them regularly to keep them in tip top shape and follow the simple laundering instructions sewn into the seam. Ensure your covers and inserts are completely dry before long term storage.
Do you make Moteef outdoor candles?
Our luxe outdoor candle range is created in collaboration with Perth based Self Organics. E-von has a nose for blending essential oils and worked with me to realise my specific vision in my custom made vessel.
Good to know: The outdoor candle packaging can be reused. Simply clean out the last bits of wax, put the glass into the top level of your dishwasher and voila - you can now use it as a coffee glass, a holder for a terrarium or as a storage vessel - the lid is very snug fitting.
Perth customers: Contact Theresa from The Botanical Home if you'd like to turn your empty candle vessel into a gorgeous terrarium like this for just $15.
How do I care for a Moteef scarf?
Hand wash your scarf in cold water with mild soap and line dry in the shade. Be aware that jewellery may catch a thread and pull or create a hole. The scarves are hand frayed so if a thread on the edge comes loose, simply pull it free - it will only add to the frayed edge and will not effect the garment.
